Staybridge Suites
InterContinental Hotels Group has opened the first of its extended-stay brand Staybridge Suites in Scotland in the city of Dundee.
The hotel is located in a formerly abandoned linen mill, with many of the suites retaining original features, including exposed brick ceilings and iron beams.
Designed for extended-stay guests, Staybridge Suites Dundee offers 85 one-bedroom and studio suites with living areas, fully equipped kitchens and flexible work spaces.
The lobby is designed as a work and social space where guests can make use of free WiFi. There is also a fully stocked on-site shop called the Pantry, where guests can purchase food essentials 24 hours a day, as well as free laundry facilities and a 24/7 fitness room. Breakfast is included and, three times a week, guests are invited to midweek evening socials hosted by the hotel with complimentary food and drink.

Cold Town House
Scottish hospitality group Signature Pubs has opened Cold Town House in Edinburgh's Grassmarket, following a £4m investment. The former Robertson Memorial Church has been transformed into a brewery, bar, restaurant and rooftop terrace. It has booth seating and rotating windows opening into the brewery. The site also serves stone-baked Neapolitan pizzas fermented using Cold Town beer.

Jiva Spa
Taj Hotels has opened its Jiva spa brand, in collaboration with Temple Spa, at its St James' Court property in London. A relaxation area includes a vitality pool, steam room and sauna and the spa menu features treatments including a Champagne and truffle 90-minute facial and Jiva's signature Aksha scrub and wrap.

Liberté
New York-inspired Liberté on the third floor of Liverpool's Bentley Building on the Strand has opened a pan-Asian restaurant alongside its cocktail bar. The bar opened last summer with the opening of the restaurant delayed in order to refine the concept.

Shanghai Teahouse
Shanghai Teahouse Cantonese restaurant has opened its doors in Bothwell, South Lanarkshire, this week. The new 1,500 sq ft restaurant is located on the outskirts of Glasgow with a menu designed by Jimmy Lee, chef-owner of Lychee Oriental in Glasgow.

The Meet
Vegan concept the Meet has launched a permanent restaurant in London's Clapham. The restaurant, occupying an old railway arch, offers a selection of small sharing plates, burgers, late-night bites, weekend bottomless brunches and Sunday roasts.
