Jonathan Downey has confirmed street food market Dinerama in London’s Shoreditch will close after this weekend, just days after the closure of Milk & Honey bar in Soho.
Posting on social media he said: “Dinerama closes this weekend. Gone for good. After five years, one fire and two million visitors, we’re finished because of our fucking landlord. Sunday is the last day’s trading of the best business I’ve ever been involved with.”
A post on its website said the business had not been able to agree a deal with the landlords. Downey told The Caterer in July on reopening Dinerama that its future would depend on whether a deal could be reached with the landlord.
Downey, who is also chief executive of Hospitality Union and London Union, told The Caterer earlier this week he had "no choice" but to shut down Milk & Honey after the 10pm curfew came into force, which he said made it no longer viable as a business.
London Union operates Street Feast food markets Dinerama, Giant Robot, Model Market and Hawker House, however all other sites remain closed.
