JKS Restaurants to open second Hoppers offering reservations

JKS Restaurants is to open a second Hoppers restaurant following the success of the original Soho, London, site.

Unlike the original, which opened in October 2015 and built a reputation for its queuing diners, the new site on Wigmore Street in London's Marylebone will offer reservations.

At 85 covers across two floors Hoppers St Christopher's Place will be considerably larger than the original. It will open its doors this summer.

The menu will feature a number of new Sri Lankan inspired dishes alongside the existing menu, including Jaffna beef rib fry and tuna and tapioca cutlets with avocado sambol, as well as larger sharing dishes of claypot baby chicken kukul maas and Kalupol black pork ribs with fennel and turmeric sambol.

The restaurant's interior will be designed by Article Design Studio taking inspiration from Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa and his work on "tropical monochromatic modernism".

JKS Restaurants founder Karam Sethi said:"Following the success of the first Hoppers in Soho back in 2015, an increase in travel to Sri Lanka and subsequently the popularity of the country's food and culture in the capital, opening a second, larger Hoppers site seemed like a natural step. We're thrilled to expose even more Londoners to the bold flavours of Sri Lanka and Tamil Nadu."

Karam, Sunaina, and Jyotin Sethi opened Hoppers in Soho in October 2015.
