JJ Foodservice commits to support of UK Care Homes

Wholesaler JJ Foodservice has announced an expansion of its sales team and product range to support the UK care homes sector.

According to the office for National Statistics there is a predicted 36% growth in people aged more than 85 between 2015 and 2025 and this is expected to lead to a significant increase in demand for care home services.

With JJ Foodservice's website and online ordering App, and multi-temperature vehicles delivering from across eleven UK branches, group general manager at JJ Food Service, Terry Larkin said, "The care homes sector is worth around £15.9b a year in the UK, with around 410,000 residents. As the population continues to age, demand for care will increase."

"We want to take the pressure off caterers by offering a range of healthy products, all competitively priced, for their residents," he added.

JJ's product range includes oven foods, fresh and frozen meats, fruits and vegetables, dried foods, sandwich fillings, condiments, desserts, disposables, hygiene and cleaning products.

"We also understand that care homes need dedicated support and our new care home business development manager has specialist experience in this field", added Larkin.

The care home product range is highlighted in the latest JJ Foodservice product guide. Available by emailing carehomes@jjfoodservice.com
