Jesus Adorno leaves Le Caprice after 39 years

Le Caprice director Jesus Adorno has left the London restaurant, having worked there since it opened in 1981.

First reported by Bloomberg’s Richard Vines, Adorno joined the restaurant as head waiter on its opening day and became a board member of Caprice Holdings in the 1990s.

A spokesperson for the company said: “We can confirm that Jesus Adorno has left Le Caprice after many years of incredible service to our wonderful guests. Jesus has been an integral part of the success of Le Caprice restaurant. He will be missed and we wish him all the success in the future.”

The original Le Caprice occupied a site on Arlington St for 38 years, however closed earlier this year as its lease came to an end. The group said in June that Le Caprice would be "reborn at a new location currently under negotiation", however in October Adorno posted on Twitter that a new location had still not been found.

Le Caprice forms part of Richard Caring's Caprice Holdings, which also operates J Sheekey, 34 Mayfair and Balthazar, among others.
