Janene Pretorius to join the Wolseley Hospitality Group

Janene Pretorius will join the Wolseley Hospitality Group as director of people, talent, and culture in November.

Pretorius joins the group, formerly Corbin & King, from the Ivy Collection, where she was chief people officer. She has also worked as HR director of Prezzo and head of staff training and development for Gaucho.

Baton Berisha, chief executive of the Wolseley Hospitality Group, said: “Janene and I worked together for several years at the Ivy Collection where she held the role of chief people officer. Her incredible experience will be a huge asset to the group, and this is a very important appointment for us as we enter our next stage of growth.”

Berisha had spent seven years at the Ivy Collection, leaving in December 2021, only a year after being promoted to overall chief executive of the Ivy Collection, Bill's Restaurants, Caprice Restaurants and the Birley Group. He briefly joined D&D Group but moved on to TWHG after just three months.

TWHG has plans to open Soho seafood restaurant Manzi's and the Wolseley City in the old House of Fraser building on King William Street in the City of London in 2023.

Plans for the openings had been under development prior to Thai hospitality group Minor International taking control of the company earlier this year.
