Jamie Oliver Group to launch Dublin restaurant

Jamie Oliver’s international restaurant business and franchise partner Gerry Fitzpatrick are set to open a new restaurant in Dublin called Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver.

The 100-cover restaurant is located on Exchequer Street, which until the late 18th century was more often called Chequer Lane. The restaurant will open in April, celebrating Irish produce, from rock oysters from Carlingford Bay, beef cooked using a robata grill, monkfish scampi, wild garlic chicken Kiev and seasonal dishes. Brunch and roasts will be served on weekends.

Oliver said: “Chequer Lane will celebrate some of my favourite comfort food and the menu will be packed with big, hearty flavours and simple, seasonal ingredients. The food I really love to cook and diners love to eat. Ireland has some of the greatest produce in the world and we can’t wait to show it off.”

Fitzpatrick added: “Chequer Lane will be a fantastic addition to Dublin’s bustling restaurant scene. Diners can expect the very best of delicious and affordable Irish food and drink in a welcoming environment in the heart of Dublin City.”

Chequer Lane by Jamie Oliver will sit alongside the existing brands in the group’s international restaurant portfolio including: Jamie’s Italian, Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria, Jamie’s Deli, Jamie Oliver’s Diner as well as Jamie Oliver Kitchen.

The Jamie Oliver Group operates 74 restaurants outside of the UK across 27 markets, collaborating with 21 franchise partners. Following the collapse of Oliver's UK restaurant business last year, Jamie Oliver Restaurants operates no sites in the UK. The three sites operating at London Gatwick Airport, including Jamie Oliver's Diner and Jamie's Italian, were sold to travel caterer SSP out of administration.
