James Martin joins relaunch of cult potato outlet SpudULike

Celebrity chef James Martin has announced plans to relaunch cult jacket potato favourite SpudULike.

The baked potato group fell into administration in August 2019, and was bought by spud giant Albert Bartlett later that year.

The chef has now joined the business, which has been rebranded SpudULike by James Martin.

Announcing the collaboration on Instagram Martin said: “It’s official… look out for the new menu and new look! To be honest I’m so bloody excited for you to try the new look and new menu can’t wait.”

Martin’s new toppings will include the likes of peri-peri chicken wings, 'Bad Boy' hot dogs, butter chicken and chickpea daal.

SpudULike was first launched in Edinburgh in 1974. At the time of its 2019 collapse it had 37 outlets. Its website shows 10 branches are currently open.
