UK potato producer Albert Bartlett has partnered with chef James Martin to create a range of frozen potato products targeted to chefs.
Launched yesterday (9 October) and made available through produce supplier Nationwide Produce, the ‘Albert Bartlett Inspired by James Martin’ range comprises five potato products including: luxury mashed potato, classic mashed potato, and triple cooked chunky chips.
It is the first time the potato company has created a range solely for chefs and aims to help them reduce prep time and reduce waste.
It is hoped the product can address the need to balance the challenges of managing a busy kitchen while maintaining quality and taste.
John Hicks, brand and marketing director at Albert Bartlett said the business had been providing “fantastic quality frozen products” for the retail sector for years and was “delighted to be working with James” to create a new foodservice range of products.
Martin added: “As chefs we are faced with many pressures and challenges with staff, sourcing, planning and ensuring we deliver consistently great food – that’s why we have developed these great tasting high quality products, it is a true chef’s range, and now with all the convenience of frozen.”
Martin and Albert Bartlett have worked together since 2021, when the chef announced plans to relaunch cult jacket potato favourite SpudULike. The baked potato group fell into administration in August 2019, and was bought by Albert Bartlett later that year. When Martin joined the business in 2021, he rebranded the product 'SpudULike by James Martin'. According to its website, it operates four food outlets.
