Jack Greenall has sold the Pheasant Inn in Hungerford, Berkshire, to pub group Young’s ahead of plans to build a portfolio of approximately six pubs and hotels across Mayfair, Notting Hill and West Sussex.
Greenall, a descendant of the Greenall gin family, acquired the freehold of the Pheasant in 2016 and refurbished it, growing annual turnover from £750,000 in 2016 to £2.6m.
He is now seeking investment partners and looking for new sites to build a collection, a project he has already launched with the opening of the Surprise in London’s Chelsea in May 2021.
Greenall said: “It has been an immense privilege to work with such an incredible team at the Pheasant Inn over the last five years. I am very proud of what we have built and excited to see Young’s maintain and grow the ethos we have worked so hard to create. The loyalty and support from the locals throughout my time here will always be remembered and I look forward to welcoming them into one of our future pubs.”
