The design of the new £15m Shankly Hotel Preston has been revealed ahead of its completion in April 2019.
The 60-bedroom hotel, housed in Preston's former Grade II-listed post office, is a tribute to legendary Liverpool FC footballer Bill Shankly.
The Preston hotel follows the group's Shankly hotel in Liverpool and is being developed in collaboration with the Shankly family. It will be led by Bill Shankly's grandson, Chris Carline, who is also co-owner and curator of the first Shankly hotel, along with Signature Living chairman Lawrence Kenwright.
Commenting on the interior of the Preston hotel, Carline said: "With the Shankly Liverpool and with Signature Living we always look to recreate a story of provenance and a sense of theatre around our hotels; it is core to our philosophy.
"It was important for me to ensure that the interior of the hotel was authentic and a true reflection to what my grandfather would have liked. His sense of style and occasion was something which truly defined him as a man and the football manager he was."
The reception, bar, restaurant and communal areas are themed around a 1930s first-class rail carriage after Shankly signed as a player for Preston FC in 1930, while travelling between Carlisle and Preston.
Bedroom interiors will feature a colour palette of soft pastel shades, from eggshell blues to fresh whites, alongside oak features and a gold gilt edge detailing, to create an art deco feel.
The Shankly Hotel Preston will also feature curated artefacts and memorabilia complete with photographs and items connected to Shankly's time as a player, specifically with Preston North End.
The group has several other football-themed hotels in the pipeline, including the Dixie Dean in Liverpool and the George Best hotel in Belfast.
