Instagram has launched an integrated service that will allow users to make reservations through a restaurant's profile.
The new service offers business account users the option to link directly to their reservation page through the social media site's smartphone app.
Instagram is currently the third most actively used social media site in the world, with more than one billion monthly active users.
The service can be used to access several reservation sites, including Opentable and Quandoo.
Pierpaolo Zollo, vice-president of business development at Quandoo, said: "We look forward to driving even more value for our restaurant partners with this integration.
"Thanks to this partnership, Instagram users will have an easier way to reserve a table at their favourite restaurant in less than a minute, no matter where they are; while restaurants will be able to take advantage of these new features, making Instagram another place to do business".
Launching the service alongside other business buttons, a statement on Instagram's blog noted: "As more people continue to interact with businesses on Instagram and take action when inspiration strikes, we're making it easier to turn that discovery into action.
"Through our action buttons, people can now reserve, get tickets, start order or book through popular third-party partners without having to leave Instagram."
