InterContinental Hotels Group has unveiled refreshed designs for its Crowne Plaza and Staybridge Suites brands.
IHG unveiled the new Conran and Partners-designed spaces for its European Crowne Plaza properties (pictured) this week at the International Hotel Investment Forum (IHIF) in Berlin, Germany.
The company says the new design aims to meet the needs of how business travellers want to work, meet and socialise in hotels by offering flexible spaces.
Mike Greenup, vice president of brand management for Europe at IHG, said: âWeâve partnered closely with our owners throughout this project and every element of the new design has been shaped with return on investment in mind. Weâve created communal workspaces where guests can switch effortlessly between work and socialising.â
Simon Kincaid, director at Conran and Partners, added: âWe have been working closely with IHG to understand past, present and future guest profiles for Crowne Plaza. Travellers expect seamless service and want an experience that parallels the ease and flexibility of brands such as Uber or Apple, progressive co-working environments, membersâ clubs and immersive retail experiences.â
IHG has also revealed a new design for its Staybridge Suites extended stay brand for future openings in Europe, the next of which will be the 116-bedroom Staybridge Suites Manchester - Oxford Road later this year, followed by the Staybridge Suites London â" Heathrow Bath Road.
The new communal spaces will offer flexible design and communal kitchen layouts for a more home-like feel.
