Javier Águila has been named president of Hyatt’s Inclusive Collection as the company seeks to become “a leader in all-inclusive”.

From 1 March, Águila, who is also Hyatt’s group president, EAME, will be responsible for the company’s all-inclusive portfolio, spanning 55,000 rooms under 11 brands, including Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, which recently joined Hyatt following a 50/50 strategic joint venture with Grupo Piñero.

He will manage Hyatt’s global all-inclusive business across development, branding and operations.

It comes after Hyatt appointed Amar Lalvani to lead the group’s Lifestyle division in a bid to bolster the identity of each segment. The group has also hinted at further announcements within its Luxury arm.

Hyatt has five “brand portfolios”, namely Lifestyle, Luxury, Inclusive, Classics and Essentials.

Mark Hoplamazian, president and chief executive at Hyatt, said: “With our distinct brand portfolios and dedicated leadership, we are strengthening our commitment to delivering experiences that meet the needs of our very different guest and customer bases.

“Javier came to Hyatt through the acquisition of Apple Leisure Group in 2021, and between his vast all-inclusive expertise and the growth momentum the EAME region has seen under his leadership since 2022, I am confident he will bring the full potential of our growing Inclusive Collection to bear and further advance Hyatt’s position as a leader in all-inclusive, caring even more deeply for guests, customers and owners in this exciting segment.”
