Hotel plans for Dinerama site given the green light

Plans to build a 12-storey, 295-bedroom hotel on the site of Street Feast’s Dinerama street food market in London’s Shoreditch have been given the green light by the council.

Hackney Council approved planning to demolish existing temporary buildings at 19 Great Eastern Street and a four-storey 1980s office building at 9 Hewett Street to build a new office and hotel.

The hotel is also planned to have a ground-floor restaurant, with architectural firm Buckley Gray Yeoman overseeing the proposals on behalf of client Minories and developer the Property Trust.

The development is reported to be in the region of a £46m investment, with work expected to begin on site early next year and finish in the first quarter of 2024.

Last week it was confirmed that Incipio Group had taken on Street Feast’s Giant Robot street food market site in London's Canary Wharf, with plans to turn it into the first permanent Pergola.

Street Feast is operated under Jonathan Downey's London Union, which will be reopening Model Market in Lewisham this week. The group’s fourth site, Hawker House in Canada Water, is also understood to have closed permanently.
