Henry Harris joins Wright Brothers as chef and beverage director

Wholesale and restaurant business Wright Brothers has appointed Henry Harris to the newly created role of chef and beverage director.

As first reported by Code Hospitality, Harris’ role will cover food, drink and service across Wright Brothers’ four London restaurants, product development for the group’s ‘at home’ range and working as an ambassador for the wholesale business.

The group will be adding British steaks and meat to the menu alongside its signature seafood dishes, as well as an “occasional flourish of Racine”, Harris’ Knightsbridge restaurant which closed in 2015.

Wright Brothers was founded by brothers-in-law Ben Wright and Robin Hancock in 2002 as a specialist oyster wholesale business – Harris was their first wholesale customer while he was at Racine.

The group has since expanded to sell a full range of seafood, operating from Billingsgate Market in London with a specialist coastal team in Brixham, Devon, as well as four London restaurants, having sold their Soho site last year after receiving an offer that was “too good to turn down”.

Co-founder Ben Wright said: “We were extremely proud to have served Henry at Racine and even prouder today to be working with such an experienced and respected chef on this exciting new chapter for Wright Brothers. Henry shares our passion and vision for great food, drink and hospitality, as well as our values when it comes to nurturing talent and inspiring teams.”

Harris added: “After almost 20 years as a customer and friend of Wright Brothers I’m excited to be working with Ben, Robin and the teams in the dining rooms and kitchens to start a new chapter for Wright Brothers.”

Harris was previously chef director at London gastropub group Harcourt Inns. He left last year having spent three years with the business overseeing the menus across six of its openings including the Hero of Maida, formerly the Truscott Arms pub, in Maida Vale.
