Henry Harris leaves Harcourt Inns

Henry Harris has ‘stepped away’ from his role as chef director at London gastropub group Harcourt Inns to focus on a new project.

The chef has been working with the business since 2017 and has overseen the menus at six openings including the Hero of Maida, formerly the Truscott Arms pub, in Maida Vale.

Harris wrote on Instagram over the weekend: “This week I stepped away from the London pubs that I have been running as chef director for the last three years and I no longer have any involvement in them.

“I am very proud of what we have achieved. A truly great team that have cooked and served great food and poured good drinks and I know will continue to do so.

“I am working on a new project that I hope to be able to announce before too long.”

Only four of Harcourt Inns’ pubs have reopened since lockdown. Two of its sites, the Three Cranes in the City of London and the Harcourt in Marylebone, appear to still be closed.

Harris was owner and chef patron of Knightsbridge restaurant Racine for 13 years until he sold the business in 2015.

The Caterer has contacted Harcourt Inns for further comment.
