Hastings Hotels opens the Grand Central in Belfast

Hastings Hotels has today opened its seventh property, the Grand Central in Belfast.

At 23 floors, the 300-bedroom and 10-suite luxury property has become Northern Ireland's tallest hotel. It features a contemporary design inspired by the Victorian building's previous incarnation as a hotel from 1893 to the 1970s.

The hotel's three restaurants and bars include the Grand Café on the ground floor with its own private entrance from the street; the art deco-styled Seahorse Bar & Bistro on the first floor; and the Observatory cocktail lounge on the 23rd floor, offering panoramic views of the city.

The Grand Central hotel also features two meeting rooms - the Blackstaff and the Farset, named after the rivers of Belfast, two boardrooms and 80-seat reception room - the Panorama Suite.

Stephen Meldrum was appointed general manager for the property in April.

The other hotels in the Hastings portfolio are six four- and five-star properties across Northern Ireland, including the Stormont and Europa hotels in Belfast, and the Culloden Estate.
