Harts Group to close El Pastor’s Pastorcito at Mercato Metropolitano

The Harts Group has announced that El Pastor’s Pastorcito at the Mercato Metropolitano hotel will close for good on Sunday.

The group, behind restaurants including Quo Vadis in Soho, the Barrafina sites in Covent Garden, Kings Cross and Soho, as well as El Pastor group had opened the unit in August.

It was the second Pastorcito site, joining the first in the Arcade Food Theatre in west London; and the sixth under the El Pastor banner with others in Borough Market, Bermondsey and King’s Cross.

The group has said: “We would like to thank MM for the opportunity to be part of their vibrant market in Elephant and Castle.

“We have decided to take the Pastor family forward by concentrating our resources into developing our existing restaurants El Pastor, Tortilleria EP, Casa and Plaza Pastor, and exploring other opportunities more akin to these. Pastorcito continues to serve Mexican market tacos at Arcade Food Theatre.”

El Pastor was developed by Sam Hart, his brother James and Crispin Somerville.
