Harbour Hotels has moved into London with the acquisition of the 68-bedroom Richmond Gate hotel.
Located at the top of Richmond Hill, opposite Richmond Park, the hotel takes the Harbour Hotels portfolio, which is based across the south of England, up to 11 hotels and two country venues. Richmond Gate was bought from Suite Hospitality on a 999-year-long lease.
The property will continue to operate as the Richmond Gate hotel before being rebranded as a Harbour hotel in winter 2018, following an extensive refurbishment programme which will see the addition of a spa and Jetty restaurant.
Mike Warren, managing director of Harbour Hotels, said: "We are very excited to be taking the Harbour Hotels brand to London; it's an exciting location and a key strategic position from our perspective. The Richmond Gate hotel is a landmark property, with an outstanding setting."
Harbour Hotels opened its flagship hotel, a £25m, 76-bedroom, new-build hotel shaped like a super-yacht, in October.
