Chatham said he was “thrilled” to be promoted into the position
Graham Chatham has been appointed chef patron of nose-to-tail restaurant Origin City in Farringdon, London.
Chatham, who was previously executive chef, said he was “thrilled” to be promoted into the position, which will see him oversee the restaurant and sister wine bar 56 West Smithfield.
Before joining Origin City at its outset in 2023 he was executive chef at Daylesford Organic, overseeing its London branches.
He earlier worked at Rules restaurant in Covent Garden and the Langham London hotel.
Chatham said: “Having been at Origin City since the very beginning, I am thrilled to be leading the restaurant into this new stage, as we enter our second year of trading.
“I am very proud of how far we have come with both the restaurant and our sister wine bar, 56 West Smithfield. There are some immensely exciting projects in the pipeline, which will only expand the scope of our truly authentic, nose-to-tail, pasture-to-plate offering.”
The owner of Origin City, the Landsberg family, has said another opening is planned before the end of 2024, which will also be overseen by the chef.
Origin City has received a series of positive reviews since its 2023 opening.
The Observer’s Jay Rayner said: “Origin City is possibly one of the most traditional restaurants I’ve reviewed this year. Despite the mission statements, the kitchen is not pushing at the boundaries of anything. Instead, it’s doing something rather less celebrated. It’s cooking up a total storm.”
