Goring returns to profit after £4m loss last year

The five-red-AA-star Goring hotel in London’s Belgravia has battled back from a £4.74m loss last year to turn a pre-tax profit of £118,407.

That is according to its financial results for the year to 31 March 2022 filed with Companies House, which reported a revenue boost from £1.27m to £10.49m following its reopening post-Covid.

Directors said the 69-bedroom property, the last remaining family-owned luxury hotel in London, having been owned by the Goring family since 1910, was “in a strong position to continue its journey to recovery in the 2022-23 financial year”.

“We have experienced a strong bounce back to trade in the last few months, mostly driven by the increased average room rates in the London market and therefore anticipate the company returning to profitability this year,” documents said.
