Applications for the Gold Service Scholarship 2023 will open on 5 September.
The Gold Service Scholarship, which has patronage from the Queen, recognises service excellence. The winning scholar will receive placement, support and mentoring to further their career.
Applications will be open until 3 October, with the quarter-finals taking place later that month, the semi-finals in late November and the final in mid-January 2023. The 2023 scholar will be revealed at an award ceremony in February 2023.
Trustee and chairman of the judges Edward Griffiths said: “So many challenges face the hospitality industry at the moment, and so the scholarship is all the more relevant in encouraging and mentoring young professionals as they embrace their chosen career path. The Gold Service Scholarship continues to lead in providing opportunities for talented young people to broaden their knowledge and experience.”
Previous scholars have hailed from of hotels and restaurants as well as large event and foodservice companies, royal palaces, private clubs and football stadium catering venues.
To qualify for the competition applicants must be aged between 22 and 28 and work in a front of house role.
