Fuller’s launches legal action over business interruption insurance

Pub group Fuller’s has commenced legal proceedings against Liberty Mutual and Aviva in relation to a business interruption insurance claim.

A spokesperson for Fuller’s, which runs almost 400 managed and tenanted pubs in London and the south-east of England, confirmed the news but declined to comment further.

Since the Covid-19 pandemic, the 72 Hiscox business interruption insurance claimants affected by the Supreme Court FCA Test Case secured a settlement worth more than £5.2m.

Restaurant group Corbin & King won its High Court battle with insurer Axa while 1863 Restaurant with Rooms in Pooley Bridge also won a six-figure coronavirus insurance payout.

Aviva and Liberty said they would not comment on ongoing litigation.
