Fred Sirieix and Grace Dent enter the jungle in this year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Channel 4's First Dates and front of house champion Fred Sirieix and The Guardian restaurant critic Grace Dent are taking part in this year’s series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!

Sirieix arrived in Australia yesterday (13 November) to begin filming the 23rd series, which comes out on 19 November.

Writing on Twitter and Instagram, Sirieix said: “It’s official! Fred is heading to the jungle to star on this years @imacelebrity!”.

Dent, who is also a critic on MasterChef, announced her involvement in the show on social media. In a video clip released on the programme’s YouTube channel, Dent said: “I am accustomed to, every time I want to eat, people bringing me lovely food. I am going to be so hungry, I actually think a testicle will be quite tempting.”

The show follows ten UK celebrities as they set up in camp in Australia for three weeks, completing challenges to secure additional food and treats for the group, and to avoid being voted out by viewers during their stay. Previous series’ challenges have included contestants being required to eat a variety of different ‘jungle’ foods to gain meals for the camp, including crickets, green ants, roasted spider and genitals of various animals.

Sirieix and Dent will be joined by eight other participants including former politician Nigel Farage and retired jockey Frankie Dettori.

Past industry faces who have taken part in the show include Anthony Worrall Thompson, Rosemary Shrager. Gino D’Acampo won the ninth series in 2009 and was crowned ‘King of the Jungle’.
