Galvin at Windows general manager Fred Sirieix has been appointed Workplace Pension Ambassador in a bid to call for more workers to save into a workplace pension.
Since the automatic registration came in to force in 2012, more than 8.7 million people have been enrolled into a workplace pension, by over 800,000 UK employers across the country.
However, Sirieix alongside former Dragon's Den judge Theo Paphitis and TV builder Tommy Walsh believe there is more to be done and are urging employees to speak to their boss to find out when they can start enjoying the benefits of a workplace pension.
A series of videos are to be launched to coincide with the department's launch of the new workplace pension campaign, starting with a TV advert which will be aired on 16 October at 7.45pm.
âWhen youâre in the automatic enrolment system, it means that when you pay in, so does your boss. Itâs win-win. Even if you can only afford a small amount, just put it aside. It will come in handy in later life. I know millions people working in the catering and hospitality industry are already saving this scheme. This on top of the state pension can help you have the best possible retirement.
âThousands of smaller businesses such as pubs, restaurants and cafes have also started to implement automatic enrolment for the first time. And an extra 400,000 newly formed and existing employers must still enrol their staff into a workplace pension between now and March next year.
âIf you donât already have a workplace pension, then I strongly urge you to go and ask your boss when you can start.â
Minister for Pensions and Financial Inclusion, Guy Opperman said: âAutomatic Enrolment has been a huge success, helping millions more people save into a workplace pension. Having a workplace pension is no longer just for the better off and combined with a state pension can help you towards a more secure retirement. Those who are not already in the workplace pension scheme should be asking their employers about when they can join and finding out more about it.â
