The hotelier’s new role will see him steer Iconic’s future development plans globally.
Francisco Macedo has been promoted to senior vice president asset management at Iconic Luxury Hotels - International.
The hotelier joined Cliveden House as general manager in 2019 and later took on the role of operations director across the wider Iconic group portfolio.
His new role will see him take on further responsibilities to develop the group internationally.
Macedo will continue to oversee Cliveden House and remain part of the company’s executive team.
Andrew Stembridge, executive director of Iconic Luxury Hotels, said: “With the current expansion of the Iconic Luxury Hotels portfolio internationally in Venice and later this year in Miami Florida, Francisco’s role will be pivotal to our future development plans.
"However, he will also remain central to our UK operations, continuing to oversee Cliveden House and forming part of our executive team.
“This key role underlines our appetite to grow Iconic Luxury Hotels through acquisition and management contracts both internationally and closer to home, and we are lucky to have the opportunity to recognise Francisco’s skills and expertise in this new appointment.”
Iconic Luxury Hotels, part of L+R Hotels, is a family-owned global hotel investment and management company.
Founded in 2016, the business has a portfolio of more than 115 hotels, with 23,000 bedrooms across the UK, Europe, the US and the Caribbean.
Macedo, who won Manager of the Year at the 2023 Cateys, added: “I am honoured to take on this new role. This is an exciting time for our collection as we expand our footprint with the integration of Hotel Excelsior, Venice and the upcoming opening of the Palm House Hotel, Florida.
“My focus will be on ensuring these properties uphold the exceptional service and operational standards that define the Iconic Luxury Hotels experience.
"I am committed to supporting our growth internationally and look forward to the opportunities ahead.”
