The 72-bedroom wellness resort features F&B outlets led by chefs Adam Maddock and Tommy Banks.
Luxury and wellness resort Saltmoore has finally opened its doors within an 85-acre estate in North Yorkshire.
Saltmoore is situated between Whitby and Sandsend and consists of two hotels spanning 72 bedrooms in total.
The project is backed by construction and property development firms O’Shea Group and Galliard Homes, who plan to build 184 lodges over five years for independent ownership.
Room rates start from £420 on the weekend and from £350 midweek.
Dubbed a “luxury nature-based retreat”, the development features a spa with treatment options from Windsmith Skin and a selection of F&B outlets overseen by chefs Adam Maddock and Tommy Banks.
Saltmoore House features 43 bedrooms ranging from Snug to Master rooms overlooking the gardens. Guests can also stay in the Gorse, Heather, Orchard and Nest suites.
The Beach House, which is set to open in 2025, is a 29-bedroom property home to the Coastal Classic Balcony and Coastal Classic Outdoor Bath rooms. Some of the biggest suites will also have a freestanding bathtub.
The interiors have been designed by Sapin Studio, who have paid homage to the moorlands and the hotel’s seaside location through its ocean-blue palettes and teal-tiled bathrooms.
Saltmoore’s F&B is being led by head chef Adam Maddock, former head chef at the Fife Arms in Braemar and consulting executive chef Tommy Banks of the Michelin-starred Black Swan in Oldstead, in a retreat across the moors from Saltmoore.
The retreat offers two bars and four restaurants, including a fine dining destination that will open in early 2025, as well as the Brasserie at Saltmoore, Wellness Café and upcoming pizzeria.
The Brasserie serves twists on classic menu items in a relaxed atmosphere, with dishes such as smoked haddock scotch eggs, tempura cod cheeks, butter chicken pie and Mangalica Cumberland sausages with sage and apple butter mash.
The formal dining room, Calluna, named after the Latin name for heather, will launch in the new year with a hyper-seasonal menu inspired by the moors and coast.
Meanwhile, the Sanctuary at Saltmoore is a spa and wellness offering featuring an indoor heated pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, relaxation room, treatment rooms, gym, cryotherapy chamber and Brass Monkey Ice Bath.
