Finalists announced for Young Entrepreneur and Young Manager awards

The founders of Artist Residence Hotels, Pophams Bakery and Utter Waffle are among the brightest young talent competing for awards at the British Travel & Hospitality Hall of Fame next month.

 

They are all shortlisted for the Young Hospitality Entrepreneur of the Year award, which will be revealed at the Dorchester hotel in London on 23 March.

 

The Young Hospitality Entrepreneur of the Year finalists are:

  • Kate Frobisher, founder, Urban Pantry
  • Ollie Gold, founder, and managing director Pophams Bakery
  • Damian O'Kelly, chief executive and founder, Nutritics
  • Grace Regan, founder, SpiceBox
  • Justin and Charlotte Salisbury, co-founders, Artist Residence hotels
  • James Timmins and Julia Jefferis, owners, Utter Waffle

 

A Young Hospitality Manager of the Year will also be crowned on the night, from the following shortlist:

  • Marie Boyez, director of revenue, InterContinental London Park Lane
  • Samantha Byrne, director of sales, AC Hotel by Marriott Manchester Salford Quays
  • Craig Gordon, managing partner, Home SW15
  • Robbie Laidlaw, head of sales, the Genuine Dining Co
  • Erin McGuinness, general manager, Corbin & King
  • Niall McGurn, operations manager, Novotel London Excel

 

Bill Toner, chief executive of catering giant CH&Co, will be one of five business leaders inducted into the Hall of Fame in recognition of his achievements in growing the foodservice business.

 

The awards honour the highest achievers in the travel, tourism and hospitality sectors, with recipients having inspired those around them. Joining Toner to be inducted in the Hall of Fame will be Jamaican tourism minister Edmund Bartlett, Simon Cooper, founder and chief executive of On the Beach, former World Travel Market chairman and founder of Just a Drop, Fiona Jeffery, and Larry Pimentel, president and chief executive of Azamara.

 

A Young Manager and Young Entrepreneur from the travel sector as well as a Business Achievement award winner will also be recognised.

 

The Hall of Fame is part of the Jacobs Media Group, which also includes The Caterer and Travel Weekly. Chairman Clive Jacobs said: "We are delighted to announce the shortlist for our Young Entrepreneur and Young Manager awards for 2020, and look forward to honouring the winners alongside the five Hall of Fame inductees who have each made a marked and lasting contribution to the hospitality and travel industry."
