Fernando Corona Burch has been appointed executive chef of the Rosewood London.
He is taking over from Simon Young, who announced his departure from the 306-room property in May after six years in the role to launch his own consultancy.
Burch has over 20 years’ experience in the industry and joins Rosewood London from Park Hyatt Los Cabos in Baja California Sur, Mexico, where he was executive chef.
Over the course of his career, he has also worked at three Michelin-starred restaurants such as El Celler de Can Roca in Girona and Restaurante Arzak in San Sebastian, Spain.
Burch is familiar with the Rosewood family, having previously been executive chef at Rosewood Hong Kong and Rosewood Beijing, as well as director of culinary operations at Rosewood Phnom Penh and Rosewood Beijing.
At Rosewood London, he will be responsible for leading the teams at the Holborn Dining Room, Mirror Room, Scarfes Bar, and across in-room dining and banqueting.
Tessa Gorman, managing director of Rosewood London, said: “Chef Fernando’s exceptional culinary expertise, including his impressive experience within the Rosewood brand, makes him the ideal leader for our talented culinary team.”
Burch added: “Joining the esteemed culinary team at Rosewood London is a privilege and an honour. I am deeply grateful for this opportunity to contribute to our shared passion for exceptional cuisine.”
Rosewood Hotels & Resorts manages 34 properties across 21 resorts and is due to launch its second London property, the Chancery Rosewood in Mayfair, in 2025.
