Fallow achieves B Corp certification

It comes less than three years after the founders opened their first permanent restaurant in London’s St James’s.

Fallow in London’s St James’s has secured B Corp certification less than five years after the launch of the nose-to-tail brand.

 

Co-founders Jack Croft and Will Murray, both 2021 Acorn Award winners, had the idea for Fallow while working together at Dinner by Heston Blumenthal.

 

The pair were named runners-up at the Brixton Kitchen Competition in 2019, which led to them being approached by entrepreneur James Robson, who enabled the business to grow further into a pop-up residency at London’s Heddon Street in early 2020.

 

Fallow opened as a permanent site in London’s St James’ in late 2021 and the team took home the Newcomer Award at the 2022 Cateys.

 

It created a media sensation from serving innovative signature dishes such as smoked cod’s head with sriracha butter sauce and fig leaf soft serve.

 

 

Over the past 18 months, the senior team took advice from Jenn McGarrigle at women-led sustainability agency CYD Connects to attain B Corp accreditation, which recognises businesses that champion social and environmental wellbeing.

 

Robson said: “As business owners we all have a responsibility to both think and do more for our planet and people and I’d urge others in our sector to go through the B Corp process and join over 2,000 businesses in the UK in securing the accreditation.

 

“Our pursuit of perfection across everything we do is paramount and earning B Corp status is by no means an end goal for us. It has pushed us to continue reflecting on our processes and identifying more and more ways in which we can better ourselves for the greater good.”

 

Earlier this year, Fallow opened Roe, a 350-cover restaurant, in London’s Canary Wharf.
