Entries open for Craft Guild of Chefs’ 2024 Graduate Awards

The Craft Guild of Chefs has opened entries for the 2024 Graduate Awards.

This year, the awards will be led by the new chair of pastry examiners, Sarah Frankland who is executive chef at Pennyhill Park Hotel & Spa.

Ben Murphy, the 2023 National Chef of the Year winner, will continue his role as chair of the Kitchen Graduate Award.

Any number of entrants can pass the Graduate Awards each year as it takes the form an exam testing the skills of young chefs.

Semi-finalists and finalists will be challenged to a series of kitchen tasks, including a paper-based exam.

Chefs who will be aged under 25-years-old on the 1 September 2024 will be eligible to enter. Those who achieve the Kitchen Award will subsequently be invited to compete in the Young National Chef of the Year competition in 2025, while pastry achievers will be invited on an overseas trip.

Frankland said: “Having supported many of my own team through this process over the years, it’s an absolute honour to take on the role of chair of pastry examiners. Entering this award helps every chef grow both professionally and personally, whatever stage they get to.”

Entries to the Graduate Awards will close on 30 April 2024. Click here for more information.

The Graduate Awards were founded by Steve Munkley in 2002.
