Ellenborough Park hotel in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, has confirmed the appointment of Marwan Hemchaoui as general manager.
Hemchaoui has joined the five-AA-star, 61-bedroom hotel from the Vineyard at Stockcross, near Newbury, Berkshire, where he had been general manager for five years. He has since been replaced at the Vineyard by Paul Shanahan, who was previously at Gidleigh Park in Chagford, Devon, as general manager.
Hemchaoui said: "I'm delighted to be joining Ellenborough Park at such an exciting time, and so look forward to being part of the community in Cheltenham.
"The team here is wonderfully passionate, enthusiastic and full of exciting ideas, and I'm so pleased to be working alongside them and taking such historically rich hotel to new heights."
The previous general manager at Ellenborough Park was Oliver Williams who has moved to Ireland as general manager of the 40-bedroom Cliff at Lyons in Celbridge, Kildare.
