Elior has won a three-year catering contract with Aberdeen Art Gallery, the largest visual arts centre in the city.
The deal will see the foodservice firm provide catering under its new specialist concessions arm Foodsmiths in the gallery’s main café and balcony as well as provide hospitality services. It will offer hot meals made with seasonal ingredients, salads and a craft baker on site will make breads, cakes and scones.
Cllr Marie Boulton, Aberdeen city council’s culture spokesperson, said: “The food and drink offer delivered by Elior at Aberdeen Art Gallery will be a perfect complement to the building. It will be a relaxing, modern and contemporary setting for gallery visitors and passers-by. With Elior confirmed as our catering partner, we look forward to world class food and service delivery at Aberdeen’s flagship cultural venue.”
Elior managing director Kenny Finlayson said: “The highly-anticipated re-opening of Aberdeen Art Gallery has created a great deal of excitement and enthusiasm amongst the Elior team. Founded in 1991, Elior operates catering contracts across a range of markets including heritage sites, business and industry, education, healthcare and leisure markets. It generated €4.89m (£4.19m) in revenue in the financial year 2017-18.
