Electrolux Professional has announced it is increasing the volume of core commercial catering equipment held in the UK, to negate the impact of a possible ‘no-deal' Brexit on importing products from its European production facilities.
The manufacturer will hold up to an extra four weeks' worth of stock from its core product range, including commercial refrigeration, dishwashing, horizontal cooking, combi oven and preparation equipment at a dedicated warehousing facility in the UK. The company has also made logistical plans to ensure UK customers continue to receive delivery times of 24-48 hours, depending on location.
Darren Lockley, head of region at Electrolux Professional UK and Ireland, commented: "In the absence of a finalised Withdrawal Agreement from the EU, the company has taken steps to increase the volume of products held in the UK, to negate the effect of an anticipated increase in import times following 29 March.
"We are well-aware that if a critical piece of kitchen equipment needs to be repaired, our customers need that product replaced as quickly as possible. By increasing the volume of stock we hold in the UK, we can ensure that any delay in importing products from our factories across Europe from late-March onwards, will not be felt by our customers.
"We are also in regular dialogue with our preferred suppliers of spare parts to ensure excellent availability and avoid impacting our repair, maintenance and service contacts over the coming months."
