The Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) has appointed Marshall Dallas as its new chief executive, effective from 1 October.
Dumfries-born Dallas will take over from Hans H. Rissmann, who has been in the role for 21 years.
Dallas has almost 25 years' experience in the hospitality sector, including senior roles at MacDonald Hotels, Queens Moat House, Gleneagles Hotel and Trust House Forte. He was most recently a director in the private healthcare sector, including at Nuffield Health and BMI Healthcare.
The conference centre first opened in 1995, and underwent a major expansion last year. The venue's facilities comprise ten different room options, including a 300-seat café, a 1,200-capacity exhibition space, and a 2,000-capacity conference hall. Its food partner is Leith's.
Dallas said: "I am delighted to have been given this exciting opportunity to lead one of the world's most cutting-edge conference and exhibition centres. Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh, has much to offer
EICC chair and City of Edinburgh councillor, Gordon Munro, added: "We are confident that Dallas has the skillset required to take the expanded, award-winning business forward."
