Din Tai Fung to open restaurant in London’s Canary Wharf

Taiwanese diner Din Tai Fung is set to open its fourth UK restaurant in London’s Canary Wharf in early 2025.

 

The 112-cover restaurant will be located at Crossrail Place in Canary Wharf and feature a private dining room for 16 as well as a ‘show kitchen’ where guests can watch chefs in action.

 

Din Tain Fung first launched in the UK in London’s Covent Garden in 2018 and opened restaurants in Tottenham Court Road and Selfridges department store in 2022.

 

The Canary Wharf menu will offer familiar dishes such as the 18-fold Xiao Long Bao (steamed pork soup dumplings), house made noodles, pork chop and egg fried rice, as well as specialties such as the salted egg yolk custard lava buns.

 

It joins a roster of restaurants expanding its footprint into London’s financial district, with recent openings including Fallow’s Roe and the Indian-inspired Kricket.

Din Tai Fung was founded in 1958 and has become famous for its signature Xiao Long Bao.

 

It now operates 170 branches in 14 countries, including Singapore, Thailand, Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan and the US.
