Deliveroo launches ‘pronouns matter’ bags for Pride along with inclusion initiatives

Food delivery company Deliveroo has launched a host of initiatives for World Pride Month with a focus on inclusivity, including delivery bags proclaiming that ‘pronouns matter’.

The brand has launched a School for Allies website for staff and partners to help raise awareness of issues facing the queer community as well as offering guidance and support, working with LGBTQ+ mental health platform Helsa Helps.

Designer Daniel Quasar, meanwhile, has created five bag designs for 2,500 Deliveroo riders across the UK to display pronouns and flags representing bisexual, pansexual, non-binary, intersex and other sexualities to celebrate Pride.

Hadi Moussa, chief business officer at Deliveroo, said: “Deliveroo is a proud ally of the LGBTTQQIAAP community. Pride 2021 is about embracing inclusivity and we are delighted to give our Deliveroo riders the opportunity to take to the streets with bags displaying Pride flags in a show of support for the community.”

Deliveroo recently sponsored DIVA magazine during Lesbian Visibility Week and hosted two seminars in partnership with Helsa for employees.

The company was founded in 2013 by William Shu and Greg Orlowski and works with more than 115,000 restaurants and grocery partners, as well as 100,000 riders. Headquartered in London, it has around 2,000 employees around the globe.
