Restaurateur David Moore and chef Asimakis Chaniotis will launch a chef’s table above Michelin-starred restaurant Pied à Terre in London’s Fitzrovia, later this month.
Chaniotis, who is executive chef of Pied à Terre, will be serving a tasting menu of up to 22 courses, inspired by both the fine-dining French cuisine for which the restaurant is known and his Greek heritage.
Moore said: “We’re so excited to be opening the Chef’s Table by Asimakis. It’s an experience like no other that exists in London today.
“Guests can come and enjoy Asimakis’ truly sensational food but can also enjoy the space, and have it all to themselves if they wish. We wanted the space to feel like you were stepping into a friend's kitchen, a place where you can have a glass of wine, choose your music and relax, but with the added benefit of a Michelin-starred chef and restaurant team looking after you.”
Chef’s Table by Asimakis will seat up to eight guests and be available for full, private hire or individual bookings at £165 a person.
Dishes will include trout mousse with mango and nage jelly, cucumber, burned lemon, royal oscietra caviar and lobster oil, as well as smoked quail with celeriac, winter truffles, Piedmont hazelnuts and confit egg yolk.
Brought up in Greece Chaniotis moved to London in 2011 and joined Moore at Pied à Terre in 2012.
His dishes will be accompanied by an 800-bin wine menu with a sommelier pairing available for an additional £95.
The room has been designed by Martin Moore Design to have a ‘home-from-home’ feel.
