David Connell promoted to group director of operations at Exclusive Collection

David Connell has been promoted to the role of group director of operations at hotel group Exclusive Collection.

Connell told The Caterer he will take on some of the workload of Danny Pecorelli, managing director of Exclusive Collection, allowing Pecorelli to focus on the expansion and acquisition strategy of the group.

Connell, who is a Master Innholder, fellow of the Institute of Hospitality and the 2020 Manager of the Year Catey winner, said: “I’m hoping to take a lot off Danny’s plate and my focus will be on supporting our general managers by working more collaboratively, making sure we are all communicating better, sharing best practice, growing the business and improving the guest experience.”

Connell will continue as general manager of South Lodge Hotel & Spa in Horsham, Sussex, with the support of Daniel Wait, who has recently been promoted to hotel manager, and will oversee the general managers from the collection’s six properties.
