The Coaching Inn Group has acquired the 21-bedroom Feathers hotel in Ledbury, Herefordshire, taking its portfolio of regional properties up to 14.
The company said that the acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will help the business achieve its target of 25 properties by the end of 2019, as part of a £50m expansion plan.
A hotel since 1564, the Feathers was previously owned by the Elliston family for more than 40 years. The Tudor building features a brasserie and a restaurant, which doubles as an events space.
Kevin Charity, chief executive of the Coaching Inn Group, said the Feathers was a great example of all the attributes the company looks for in its properties: "a busy market town location and a business that appeals to local people as well as discerning visitors and tourists".
Over the past 12 months the Coaching Inn Group has invested more than £4m in its portfolio of traditional coaching inns.
