Choice Hotels, one of the world's largest hotel companies, has added four properties in Yorkshire to its UK portfolio.
Choice Hotels has more than 6,500 hotels franchised in more than 40 countries and territories. The company operates 31 properties across four brands in the UK: the Ascend Hotel Collection, Clarion Collection, Quality and Comfort.
Three of the properties are part of the Cedar Court Hotels independent hotel collection, and have joined Choice's Clarion Collection soft brand of four-star, full-service hotels: the 131-bedroom Cedar Court Bradford, the 113-bedroom Cedar Court Huddersfield and the 149-bedroom Cedar Court Wakefield.
The fourth, the 100-bedroom Cedar Court Harrogate hotel, is now a member of the Ascend Hotel Collection soft brand of upscale, boutique hotels. The hotel is an historic Grade II-listed property dating back to 1671. It is the UK's third Ascend hotel - the first hotels to join the brand in the UK were the Howard and Channings hotels in Edinburgh, which closed last year.
Peter Till, UK managing director of Choice Hotels Europe, said: "We are delighted to sign this strategic agreement and enhance the UK portfolio with these four upscale hotels. They align with our strategy to bring best-in-class properties, diversify our portfolio, and focus on our strengths as a creative and active franchise provider partner to our owners."
