Cheltenham Chase Hotel rebrands to Delta Hotel by Marriott

The Cheltenham Chase Hotel has rebranded to a Delta Hotel by Marriott after a £2.5m refurbishment funded by investment firm Aprirose.

The refurbishment follows the £525m acquisition of 26 four- and five-star QHotels in September 2017 by Aprirose from Bain Capital Credit and Canyon Partners.

The former Cheltenham Chase becomes the second Delta Hotels by Marriott venue in the UK, after the 122-bedroom property was revamped with a fully remodelled lounge, restaurant, lobby and new Delta bar.

Aprirose is due to roll out the Delta brand this year to the Nottingham Belfry, which is currently a QHotel, with another three hotels confirmed to move under the Delta Hotels by Marriott brand in 2020.

Manish Gudka, CEO of Aprirose, said: “Bringing the Delta Hotels by Marriott brand to the Cheltenham Chase Hotel demonstrates a major investment in the local economy. It is only the second of its kind in the UK and is a significant development for the region. The £2.5m refurbishment reinforces our commitment to our hotel business as we continue to look for the best opportunities for our hotel portfolio.

“We’re looking forward to growing our Delta Hotels by Marriott portfolio in the future. The brand represents a mark of quality for discerning travellers, and we are looking forward to working in partnership with Marriott, as we continue to explore future development opportunities in the UK market.”

Dan Kelly, general manager of the Delta Hotels by Marriott Cheltenham Chase, added: “The Cheltenham Chase has always provided a perfect base for those wanting to explore the Cotswolds, whether that be for leisure or business. From corporate functions to weddings, attention to detail and providing excellent guest experiences has always been our focus and will remain so now we have rebranded.

“We anticipate the hotel will attract more business travellers, who will be drawn in by the globally recognised name, as well as stays generated from Marriott Bonvoy members, Marriott International’s travel programme.”
