Scottish-Italian chef Nico Simeone is to take the tasting menu concept he operates in Glasgow and Edinburgh to a new restaurant in Belfast.
Six by Nico Belfast, located on Waring Street in the city's Cathedral Quarter, will be the third outlet in the brand from Simeone. He also operates a modern European restaurant, 111 by Nico, in Glasgow.
An investment of £500,000 is being spent on opening a restaurant, which will offer a new six-course tasting menu every six weeks. Each menu, priced at £28 per head, will be themed upon a different place, memory or idea.
Simeone said: "We are very excited to bring an unforgettable culinary experience to Belfast. I have visited the city and I grew up with an understanding of the strong Ulster Scots connection.
"Belfast is the perfect place for our next venture and I couldn't think of a better location than the vibrant food and drinks scene of the Cathedral Quarter. We are really looking forward to collaborating with local businesses and have people from the city join our team."
Six by Nico Belfast will open next month, with a team of up to 40 staff.
Simeone was born in Glasgow to Italian parents, and launched his first restaurant, 111 by Nico, in 2015.
