Chef Björn Frantzén closes Studio Frantzén in London’s Harrods

Swedish chef Björn Frantzén’s Studio Frantzén in London’s Harrods has closed amid plans to relocate to a new venue.

 

Harden’s reported the Asian-influenced Nordic restaurant was in the process of closing in December last year.

 

A notice on the Harrods website read: “While this carefully considered decision marks the conclusion of a remarkable partnership, we are excited for new opportunities that lie ahead for both the Frantzén team and Harrods restaurants.

 

“We take pride in all that has been achieved and are thankful for the support and enthusiasm shown by our community.”

 

A message on the Studio Frantzén Instagram also stated: “We are in the process of closing our Harrods location and relocating to a new venue, with the grand opening scheduled for the summer of 2025.”

 

Studio Frantzén launched in 2022 as the chef’s first UK outpost with the support of head chef and fellow Swede Marcus Rohlén, who had spent much of his career in the UK.

 

Frantzén became famed for Restaurant Frantzén, which was the first restaurant in Sweden to be awarded three Michelin stars.

 

Studio Frantzén is being replaced by the Grill on the Fifth, which is opening this week (15 January) as a sister restaurant to the Grill in the Harrods Dining Hall.

 

Dishes will include kobe striploin, US prime ribeye, smashed cheeseburger and truffle mac and cheese.
