Chantelle Nicholson to close Tredwells after seven years

Chantelle Nicholson is to close her London restaurant Tredwells after seven years on 24 September.

In a statement the chef said she was excited for the "next chapter" for her team and has plans to open a new restaurant in early 2022.

Nicholson oversaw the launch of Tredwells when it was part of Marcus Wareing Restaurants in 2014 and was appointed chef-patron in 2016. She took sole ownership of the restaurant in 2018.

In 2020 the chef revealed she was planning a 'Tredwells 2.0' and was searching for a new home for the concept, but this was delayed by the pandemic.

More than 50% of Tredwells' menu is plant-based and the restaurant has been praised for its sustainable focus, winning a Michelin Green Star for sustainable gastronomy in the Michelin Guide Great Britain and Ireland 2021.

Nicholson said: “We will be closing the doors at Tredwells with fond memories and a great sense of achievement. The last seven years have been an incredible journey and I would like to thank all the people who have been part of it, as well as the guests who enjoyed our hospitality. My team and I are excited for our next chapter.”

Details of Nicholson’s new restaurant will be announced in the coming weeks.
