Casa do Frango expands original London Bridge restaurant

Portuguese restaurant brand Casa do Frango has taken over the ground floor of its original London Bridge home at 32 Southwark Street.

The space was formerly occupied by Ivan Tisdall-Downes and Imogen Davis’ restaurant Native.

Opened in August 2018, Casa do Frango has inhabited the first floor of the building, seating more than 100 covers, with the expansion introducing an additional 40 covers.

The ground-floor interiors have been designed by A-NRD studios, and the space will be available for private hire.

Casa do Frango co-founder Marco Mendes said: “It’s a great space and we are fortunate that the opportunity to move in has come at this time. The expansion will make it considerably easier to achieve a safe and socially distanced experience for guests, while we believe that bringing part of the restaurant down to street level will have a positive impact on walk-in trade.”

The group also launched a restaurant in Shoreditch at the beginning of this year, which has expanded with the creation of a 100-cover outdoor terrace.
