Californian burger brand Carl’s Jr has partnered with specialist property adviser Christie & Co to make its UK debut, as the group seeks to open more than 20 stores.
Christie & Co has announced it will be seeking franchise partners for the national roll-out of the quick-service restaurant group.
Carl’s Jr revealed it is looking to open at least 20 restaurants over the next few years, focusing on high-traffic locations in major towns and cities across the UK, as they see this as the “next step”.
The burger brand operates more than 80 sites in Europe and has doubled its growth in the past six years, which has taken its total portfolio to over 1,000 restaurants in 40 countries.
Simon Chaplin, senior director – pubs, restaurants and franchise at Christie & Co, said: “We are proud to have been chosen by this iconic brand to help them break into the UK market. The brand has a proven customer appeal and a franchise model that works for both sides, so we expect some strong interest in the opportunity.”

We have a tremendous team on the ground in Europe that has a good understanding of the UK market, and we are excited to be bringing this brand to our future guests in the UK.”
