Police are searching for six men after furniture and an unidentified substance were thrown inside a Cardiff restaurant yesterday evening.

Police were called to Las Iguanas restaurant in Tacoma Square, Mermaid Quay, at about 8.20pm on Wednesday.

Det Insp Phil Marchant said: “Four men were sitting in the restaurant when two other men ran into the restaurant and threw a substance at them. Items of furniture were also picked up and thrown.

“Both the four male victims and the two male suspects then ran out of the restaurant.

“We acknowledge the considerable public concern following this incident however no injuries have been reported and at this time the liquid is not believed to have been harmful.”

Police believe the two groups had an earlier altercation at about 6.15pm that evening, and that the restaurant attack was targeted.

Officers are now looking to identify and locate all six men and would like to speak with anyone who was in Las Iguanas, or the vicinity of Tacoma Square, between 6.15pm and 8.30pm who may have information that could assist their inquiries.
