Founder and group CEO, Gerry Ford said: “Despite a challenging macro-economic climate and the impact of two very disruptive storms, we performed extremely well.
“The record number of customers who chose to visit our stores shows we are continuing to gain market share and the strength of our store teams and the impact our festive menu made a real difference. Not only did we serve 2 million customers in the UK during the festive period, but we sold 175,000 tiramisu lattes and 100,000 mince pies.”
In December, Caffè Nero revealed plans to open new coffeehouses within Waitrose and John Lewis stores across the country.
This followed a double acquisition for owner, Nero Group, which brought London-based FCB Coffee and Nottingham-based coffee brand 200 Degrees under its umbrella towards the end of last year.
